My clients struggle as you do. Despite being smart, excited to problem-solve, and deeply hardworking, life is hard.
When they first come in, they feel like they are drowning in a sea of emotions and are pulled in a billion directions. They may be struggling to say “no” to a situation or relationship that is draining them. They feel unseen, unheard, and underappreciated. They worry they’re pushing people away when they say no. Whether it’s at work with coworkers,
or with family and friends, they feel resigned to the needs of others. What they want just doesn’t matter.
Their fear of saying “no” gets in the way of the life they want in so many ways. They may be feeling lost in who they are. They aren’t the kind of friend or spouse they want to be. They feel like they’re failing at existing peacefully in the family unit, and their confidence in themselves is tanking.
Before they came to see me, depression, anxiety, estrangement, and intergenerational and religious trauma made their lives a living hell. They worried that they would never get their life back after years of struggling just to survive. They worried that they would have to continue to hide their truest self.
Feeling alone while you are in the midst of hardship is extremely isolating and can make you feel like you are up s*** creek without a paddle. Like my clients, you deserve to feel that your experiences matter and that you don’t have to hide parts of yourself to survive anymore.
A life without constant panic and anxiety is not out of your reach. Peace after estrangement is not out of your reach. If you want to work through past traumas and process emotions that you haven’t shared before, I’d love to help you get there.
Call now. You don’t have to suffer. I can help.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have about Superbills and insurance.
Here is some basic information on Out of Network benefits and Superbills.
I provide counseling and therapy services to adults age 18+ in North Carolina, and South Carolina! A list of my treatment focuses can be found on my Psychology Today profile. To summarize, I work well with people who feel that their identity doesn’t fix neatly into a box and want to break free from toxic patterns of behavior. My hope is to assist you in finding your full mind-body connection again so you feel empowered and clear-headed in decision-making and regulating your emotions.
I offer a mix of morning, afternoon, evening sessions. Once you’re an established client, you can view our availability by clicking on the ‘Book with Aimee’ link at the top of my webpage, or by contacting me directly. I am happy to meet with you weekly or biweekly depending on your needs.
Sessions are $175/hr. with insurance, and $150 self-pay. Sessions typically last between 50-60 minutes.
I offer a sliding fee scale that can be discussed on request. Let’s make therapy work for you AND your budget.
Online therapy (telehealth, E-Therapy, Telemed, etc) looks a lot like therapy would in person! The initial session gives us the time to get to know one another, go over some paperwork and start to think about our goals for therapy and working together. We will discuss what has and has not worked for you in the past, so we have a solid starting foundation. Over the course of our time together, we will work together to attain your goals.
One thing COVID-19 has surely taught us is the necessity to be flexible and online counseling is just that. We are able to meet in your own or other safe area and find some balance.
Yes! I offer in-person sessions on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Friday mornings at my office in Winston-Salem, NC. My latest session is 4:30pm-5:30pm or 5pm-6pm depending on the day.
Easiest way is to click on the magical books labeled ‘Book with Aimee’ in the top toolbar where you will be directed to my scheduling portal. There, you can request a free 15-minute video consultation, fill out paperwork and see my schedule up to 4 weeks in advance!
There really isn’t one! The two terms are synonymous with one another. Some people say counseling is more long term, and therapy is a shorter duration. To me, they are both about the same.
I require a 24-hour notice of cancellation. If your appointment is not canceled within 24 hours, a full fee will be charged to the card on file. I offer 2 “freebies” per calendar year to account for sickness and other various mishaps.
If you are not using insurance for therapy services, you have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the new federal law, health care providers are to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
An example estimate for our services would be around $9,350, or $175 per week for 52 weeks including $250 for initial assessment. This is the maximum amount someone would be billed if being seen one time a week for 52 weeks plus their initial assessment.
